I suspect that the problem was with my bucket being in europe-west region, I read about some others having similar errors as well. Run “sudo python setup.py install” from command. 3. I tested this, and the problem was that the file is more than 5GB. Otherwise i have been seeing it retry after the first failure(timed out in 15 mins ), but the next retries are really quick. Is it strange to ask someone to ask someone else to do something, while CC'd? Django-storages-redux It looks like by default requests from boto are sent to the primary S3 host, which then responds with redirects to the correct region using HTTP code 307. That sounds a little disconcerting to me. I've got similar problems over direct connect in our company.
