No damage that i can see so far. I'm sure there are more. We've been through 7 different cameras and a few times it was because the camera was dropped. Powering the camera off and back on would reset the zoom, but only until zooming in again... This blog is awesome. With the lens pointed down, try "gently" tapping around the lens barrels with a small item such as a pen or pencil. Did this answer your question?

It wouldn't make any noises or anything when I turned it on; I just got the lens error.
