I did all the steps until step 11 and I heard a light pop sound and it worked.Thank you! Finally I started fooling around with buttons b/c like all electronics sometimes using combinations of buttons help clear the issue. I google the errors on the other brands, seems they all have this problem.

I tried the blow-dryer again today and that didn't work, so I tried banging my camera on the carpet, and OMG, it worked. They're pretty much the best option if you need to have a Canon repaired. With the lens pointed down, try "gently" tapping around the lens barrels with a small item such as a pen or pencil.
Canon themselves are a joke for these repairs. Mine was extended and wouldn't retract. I tried the various low level fixes and eventually gently compressed the barrel to try and even out the extension. Laden... Simply - VERY GENTLY - press down the lens on the side where the gap is the biggest. Deze functie is momenteel niet beschikbaar. and ran some more compressed air though.
Laden... When I turned it on again I aimed toward the ceiling and snapped a picture really fast and it was fixed! It now works like normal. Both times fixed FOC by Canon.
I could see that the caulk was like a glue, holding that plastic ring in place. I was able to repair it by firmly rapping the extended lens (lens facing down) into the palm of my hand several times.Thanks again and good luck. Thanks so much for this blog!
