None of the external codec can work with copy-protected shows. Windows Media Center Decoder Error Since seeing this I uninstalled all my windows updates between 09/15 and 10/12 but that didn't fix the issue (I wish I had a meaningful restore point). I tried watching TV through windows media center and sometimes I get an error message saying "Decoder Error" and other times my computer just freezes and crashes. Windows has been rolling out the updates over the last couple days (>40 for my machine) but so far nothing that addresses this issue.
