Slapped the back of the camera sharply and the lens retracted. I managed by push the lens in the direction that there is the larger gap between the lens and it housing and set the lens back to its parked position. Finally, I realized it was only happening when assembled. I dropped my camera today in Nantes and of crouse the lens has a dent in it and it wouldn't retract. Seems like the best option considering how much the camera cost me and it not being too expensive to fix. I finally gave up. The problem is actually quite common throughout all camera brands. There was an obvious click and slight realignment of the lens as it dropped back into place. I recently encountered a Lens error, reset camera with my Canon A630.
Will never buy Cannon again. My heart sank.Sadly, I disconnected the AV cable from the computer and camera in dismay and Poof..
