Finally heard it and then turned on camera and amazingly, the lens withdrew and camera is fine now.I stress - this is a ''do or die'' type of action. Thanks a lot!!!I tried most of the tips but the one that worked was pulling on the lens barrel while starting up the camera. Eventually i slowly applied pressure on the focas len, and the zoom mechinism, when it was switching off, and it make a click. Thanks for the website!!!

I have a Canon PowerShot A530 and I dropped it while I was taking a picture and it turned off. At least, LOL, until the next time the boss drops it! It was just a year after I bought it so Canon wouldn't fix it. My camera lens is disconnected from the actual position.
