I have a Canon Powershot SX200 with a Simpletech 2GB memory card, after taking 185+ pictures on vacation the card says it's locked, getting a memory error. A The likely reason this keeps happening is that these cards weren't formatted in the camera when you first got them.
Better yet, is there a way that I can reformat it from within the S2? You can only upload a photo (png, jpg, jpeg) or a video (3gp, 3gpp, mp4, mov, avi, mpg, mpeg, rm). Would recommend trying these only for cameras that are out of warranty, or who's cost of professional repair would be more than the value of the camera: Report Inappropriate Content Message Memory Card Error Card Locked Please help.

I have taken it out, cleaned it, and put it back, replaced the batteries, and everything.

The card does not get recognized while inserting it in the laptop. Now every time I turn the camera on and try to take a picture, a beeping sound and a legend on the LCD screen that reads: Memory card error.
